Paul gave credit to Timothy's mother and grandmother for raising Timothy so well. We also see the mother of Jesus who listened to the Holy Spirit and cared for Jesus as a child. Even Eve, the mother of all people was exceptional.

You, who are mothers, especially if you're raising children alone, are exceptional! Never allow your past circumstances to sway your future. Live in the present and believe God for what He's going to do.

Sometimes your situation is difficult, but hang in there. God will never leave you. 

  1. An exceptional mother has love, unconditional.
    • Isaiah 49:15 "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet I will not forget thee." A mother might forget her child because she is human but God never forgets and a good mother is like that. 
  2. An exceptional mother is patient.
    • Proverbs 14:29 "He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly." She waits on the Lord, knowing He will show up. 
  3. An exceptional mother has empathy.
    • Romans 12:15 "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." She sees those around her who might be in need. 
  4. An exceptional mother disciplines with grace.
    • Proverbs 13:24 "If you do not punish your son, you do not love him. If you do love him, you will punish him." She disciplines her child in a way that produces growth. 
  5. An exceptional mother is a good communicator. 
    • James 1:19 "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath." She listens first and only shares necessary information. 
  6. An exceptional mother is supportive. 
    • 1 Thessalonians 5:11 "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another even as also ye do." She speaks life into the child, building them up. 
  7. An exceptional mother is consistent.
    • Matthew 5:37 "Bet let your communication be yea, yea; nay, nay, for whatever cometh is evil." She stays the course and only says what she means.
  8. An exceptional mother is resilient. 
    • Proverbs 31:25 "Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come." She is the perfect model of faith and doesn't give up. 
  9. An exceptional mother is selfless. 
    • Philippians 2:4 "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also the things of others." She puts herself on the back burner and puts others first.
  10. An exceptional mother uses wisdom. 
    1. Proverbs 31:26 "She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness." She is wise with her mouth and is God-fearing in her words. 

You are a woman of God and belong to God and that alone makes you exceptional. All these characteristics demonstrate your exceptionality.
