The first purpose or reason God created you is to be in relationship with Him. He invites you to know Him now and for all of eternity.
Who first told you about God?
To know God, it’s helpful to know the scriptures.
The scriptures remind us in John 17:3
If you want a relationship with Jesus, then you need to believe He is who He says He is and He’s done the impossible so that you can be in relationship with God for eternity starting now and continuing to heaven. Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
The scriptures tell us in Acts 17:26-27 “And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,”
When did you first come to know and believe the story of Jesus as good news?
God created you to know Him. Do you?
Do you know how you were created so that you can give an answer to those who don’t know Jesus yet?
Know Your Self - We all have differences and those are to be used for His glory.
The scriptures tell us that it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,12 supports this when it says “two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!”
With Jesus, we intentionally talk to Him through prayer. We intentionally get to know Him through the scriptures. And we intentionally experience Him through others who know Him - and not just on Sundays.
What are the two greatest commands of God? To love God and love people - Matthew 22:37-39 ** So we are intentional with Jesus but are we intentional with one another???
KNOW YOUR COMMUNITY
THIS is how we live out our purpose.
- First, grow your relationship with God. This is vital. You were made to know Him and experience His love. Don’t stop working on that relationship because He doesn’t stop, turn away, or leave you.
- Second, is your relationship with yourself. This is key. How you love yourself tells me how you experience God and His love because - after all, He created you. And we honor what God has made because He called it very good. Then He adopted you as His child and nobody messes with God’s child.
- Third, your relationship with others. This matters deeply. This communicates that you know, understand, and love yourself because you know, and are growing to understand and know His love - therefore you know that He is in pursuit of others that are just like you.
