Success comes from hearing AND doing.
FAITH IN ACTION!
Joshua 1:8 'This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. '
Reflect:
- Where do you fall short according to this verse?
- How much time are you really giving to God?
- Are you meditating on the Word?
- Do you only read it and not do it?
Matthew 7:24-27 ' “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”'
So what does the Word of God say TO DO? Do you know the scriptures?
- Matthew 5:16 "let your light so shine".
- Matthew 5:24 - "reconcile with your brother"
- Matthew 5:44 - "Love your enemies and pray for them"
- Matthew 6:3 - "Give to the needy/the poor - in secret"
- Matthew 6:6 - "Pray sincerely and privately" (Read 2 Chronicles 7:14 - "IF")
- Matthew 6:14 - "Forgive one another"
- Matthew 6:20 - "Store up treasures in heaven"
- Matthew 6:33 - "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness"
- Matthew 6:25 - "Don't worry" (Read Psalm 24:1)
- Matthew 7:12 - "Do to others what you would have them do to you"
James 1:22-25 'But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.'
Do you remember the Word of God?
In order to remember the word, we need to continuously study the Word of God, rightly dividing the Word of truth. When we remember the Word, we practice the Word, and when we practice the Word (do what it says), we know that we will be blessed.
How much time are you investing in reading and understanding the Word of God? How often are you actually living it out - doing what the Word says?
