Psalm 103:1-3

God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Therefore, the same God that healed back then, heals today.

'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ' - John 3:16

Eternal life starts here.

  1. Many of us have caused our own sickness because of how we treat our body, but if we want to be healed, we need to change our eating habits.
  2. Many of us own the sickness that we are fighting, but if we want to be healed, we have to change how we think and speak.
  3. Many of us get sad about our sickness instead of speaking truth over our lives. Take authority over the life God has given you with the Word God has given you. Read the Word.

Psalm 103:1-2 'Bless the Lord , O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

The scripture can tell us what our benefits are.

  • Do you know what your benefits are as a child of God?
  • Do you know how to pray for yourself?

Why would the psalmist connect forgiveness and healing in this scripture?

If you are in Christ, you are a new creation, your life is changed. The word "healeth" is translated from "rāpā" (raw-faw), which means to be repaired. Exodus 15:26 uses the same word.

'and said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. ' - Exodus 15:26

All God wants is you - ALL of you. He wants to heal you. All He wants you to do is listen to and obey His voice. Tomorrow is not promised, so why not listen and obey today.

Isaiah 53:4-5 ' Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.'

  • Griefs (kohl-EE): disease, sickness, affliction, sadness, an evil, a calamity
  • Sorrows (mak-obe): pain of the soul, sorrow

' that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.Matthew 8:17

This was a direct quote from Isaiah after Jesus had healed several people. Jesus showed us that it's not just an Old Testament thing, but that He heals today.

'The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Do you believe? Do you want abundantly life?
