Colossians 3:2 (KJV) 'Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. '
The more you focus on the things happening on this earth, the more worried you become. The more worried you become, the worse it gets. That's why we can't focus on the things of this side of eternity.
Praise God for what He is doing. He is always working, even when we don't see it.
'being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: ' - Philippians 1:6
God is always working in our lives and we don't need to worry or to compare ourselves to each other.
'Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? ' Matthew 6:25-26
God takes care of all His creation. He's done it before and will do it again. He loves you. He created you in your mother's womb.
'Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ' Matthew 6:27-33
Why do we seek after the same things as non-believers? If we praise God, He will take care of all our needs. We don't need to worry because God said He will take care of us.
- Worry is not just an emotion. It's a spiritual weight that drains our joy and disrupts our trust. Jesus directly confronts worry in these passages, saying "don't worry. Your Heavenly Father knows what you need.
- God's got this.
- He creates something out of nothing. Hebrews 11:3 reminds us that the world was framed by God's word alone. God created everything by the word of His mouth. We can understand this through faith.
-
Deuteronomy 31:8 'And the LORD , he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. '
-
God is already before you, in your future! So to get to Him in your future, you have to praise Him in the present!
- Your future is not unknown to God because He wrote it and He is good and is working all things together for the good. Read Psalm 42:6 & 1 Peter 5:7. When God is the foundation, we can trust the outcome.
-
- What to do when worry shows up?
- Replace worry with prayer. Pray always! In the good and bad.
- Replace worry with the Word. Speak the word of God over your mind. God told Joshua to meditate on the word day and night. The word will push back fear and reset your perspective. Stop going in the wrong direction! Turn around! Change the road of your thinking and negative thoughts. You can't integrate someone into your life that isn't supposed to be there - it just won't fit. When you allow God to bring together what belongs together, then you don't have to worry about the outcome. You can trust it to be good.
- Choose worship over anxiety. Worship brings a peace over you that others can't understand. They don't know all that God has done for you. Worship is warfare. Do you know how to go to war with the enemy? Worship is a sacrifice. Something has to die in you when you go before the LORD.
I declare today that I will not allow worry or fear to dominate my life. I will be like David and bless the Lord all the time. Even when I'm going through, I will bless the LORD all the time. I will lift my voice in a quiet room. I declare today that I am a praised beyond my situation. In Jesus' name, amen.
