Acts 1:8 ''But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. '
This scripture tells us that we will receive power. This is a guarantee. Do you see the power of God at work in you?
'Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, ' Ephesians 3:20
God causes His power to work in us. If we are starting to notice that there are no results of God's power in us (people getting saved, healed, etc.), then we need to ask "what we are doing?" "Are we working?" "Are we allowing God to work in us?" "Are we allowing God to dwell in us?"
Read Mark 9:14-26 where a man tells Jesus that his son is sick and when he went to His disciples to see if they could heal him and they could not. Jesus was frustrated with His disciples who were still unable to recognize and utilize the power of God within them. So Jesus dealt directly with the father and asked him about his son's situation and then Jesus healed the boy. In verse 31, he tells them that he will soon not be with them, but they didn't understand what He was saying.
Isaiah 10:27 talks about the annointing that will remove burdens and make things great. Do you have the annointing?
When you read the book of Acts, you see the power of the Holy Spirit amongst all the people. Together, the people expected power (Acts 2) to make changes in the church, in their lives, and in their community. That's because they knew God personally and the Spirit came upon them.
If you're not seeing powerful works around you, it could be that God is not truly within you. You can't act any kind of way (however you want in your flesh), and believe God's power will work through you. God does not dwell in a place of sin and brokenness.
He will not receive your offering of praise when it's out of ritual and not from your heart. Are you living and acting like the Holy Spirit dwells within you? Is your life a worshipful response to who Jesus is and what He's done?
We need the Holy Spirit dwelling in us everyday. If we allow Him to live in us and lead our lives, results will come. We will see miracles and people coming to Jesus. (Read the example in Acts 2:32-40)
Does the Holy Spirit live within you? Are you separate from this generation?
Acts 2:41 continues to talk about those who gladly received the good news of Jesus and were baptized. The scripture says it was 3,000 people that day.
- When the power of God is in you, you will experience miracles.
- When the power of God is in you, you become a bold witness of Jesus.
- When the power of God is in you, you will see God work in you for ministry.
Do you know the Holy Spirit is at work within you? Is the anointing on you?
