Do you believe God will provide?
Even though prices are high and there is a war going on, we can trust God to take care of us, because God doesn't change and He has never failed us before.
If God has provided for you, how can you be a blessing to others?
The church is a community, not a place. As a community, we serve one another, but we also serve those outside of the church. Matthew 5:14 says we are a city on a hill and our light cannot be hidden. Verse 16 says let our light shine so that others know.
Things might be hard right now, but 2 Chronicles 7:14 says if we call on God and turn away from wickedness, then He will hear from heaven and heal.
1 Kings 17 - In this chapter, God declared there will be a drought through the prophet Elijah.
God will always take care of you. God took care of the man of God and even brought him to a brook during a drought (verse 3-4).
- You have to walk in obedience.
- Birds had to obey: Even the ravens had to obey God (verse 6) in feeding the prophet, Elijah when the brook dried up.
- Elijah had to obey: Verse 9, God tells Elijah to "arise". He's telling Elijah to move to a new position, away from the place that he was because that place is dried up. In verse 10, he obeys.
- Is there a place you don't want to leave, even though you've gotten all you could out of it? What is keeping you there?
- The widow had to obey: In verse 12, the widow didn't even believe that she would live past dinner that evening.
- Walk and operate in faith. In verse 13-14, Elijah challenges the widow to trust the Lord and give him the first fruits of his labor. In verse 15, we see that she went and did according to the saying of Elijah and God provided for her anyway.
- Hymn: Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone. Because I know He holds the future, then life is worth the living just because He lives.
- Philippians 4:19 says "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
- God will provide what you need when you need it.
