God is all-powerful. If God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19) and He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, then it's already settled in heaven.
God will stand but what he said. Will you?
Always keep God before you. Disobedience will cause you not to see the hand of God move in your life. If you're willing and obedient, the promise is that you will eat the good of the land.
Ask Yourself: Do I want God's best for my life? If so, why not obey?
1 Samuel 30:1 Context: David is on the run from Saul who is trying to kill him, even though he has helped Saul repeatedly. The Amalekites who invaded the south were actually already supposed to be dead a long time ago, but Saul disobeyed God and didn't kill all of them. So we enter the chapter now where they have burned their homes and captured their wives and children.
The men were grieved so deeply that they cried until they had no power. Then in verse six, people wanted to respond out of their pain. But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
When is the last time you went away to be with the LORD in silence? (1 Samuel 30:7-8)
God will not keep you in the same place forever. We go through seasons of loss and of recovery. God doesn't want us to give up when things are difficult, but to praise Him through it all. No matter what your season, praise the Lord, and that's how you will encourage yourself.
Exodus 30:9-15 The men who were ready to kill David now wanted to follow him. God provided people to help encourage David and feed him.
