Genesis 12:2

Your finances are between you and God, but warning DO NOT leave Him out of your finances.

Luke 15 tells us a story about a young man who asked his father for his inheritance and then he wasted it all. He squandered it so bad, that he ended up with nothing left and hit rock bottom where he even wanted to eat with the pigs. He left his father out of his finances and ended up at his worst.

God blesses us to take care of our families, to pay our bills, and to bless others with generosity. Generosity is giving outside your circle and above what is common.

Genesis 12:2-3 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Or be seen as blessed I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

ALL PEOPLE will be blessed through you.

If you're connected to the Father, the blessings will flow from Him to you and through you, but you have to be connected to Him and obedient to Him. God will always provide for you and meet your needs. He additionally wants to bless you.

In Luke 10:30-37 Jesus tells a story of a man who was robbed and beaten and left for dead.  The "good" and "righteous" people avoided him, but someone who was looked down on actually had compassion for the man and generously gave to care for him. He used his own resources to care for a stranger!

Do you show compassion to others? In what ways have you shown compassion to strangers lately?

  • Luke 6:38 tells us that whatever you give will be given back to you.
  • 1 John 4:20 reminds us that we cannot say that we love God when we don't love people.

According to Proverbs 11:25, when you bless others, God will bless you.

Who do you feel encouraged to bless today with compassion?

Malachi 3:6-10 Scriptures encourage us to give to the Lord first.

Don't defeat the seeds that you sewed by fussing about it. When you give, don't defeat your giving by regretting what you gave. Wait for the seed to grow.

  1. Plant the seed (invest through giving)
  2. Water that seed (with the truth of God's Word)
  3. Watch God bring the growth!

2 Corinthians 9:6-7  But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: '
